December 11-Dare to Love

We all have people in our lives that we love, like our friends, parents, siblings, grandparents, etc. Maybe we even tell them that we love them often, but do they know WHY you love them? Our dare today is two parts. First, find reasons why you love someone. THEN, we dare you to go one step further and craft a paper heart, write the reasons you love them, and give it to them!

Dare to Hug

As it is getting colder, getting a big, warm hug is something nearly everybody enjoys. That is why we are giving you the dare to create a hug coupon. Give this coupon to a person you really like to hug so that whenever they feel cold, they can come to you and receive a hug. Of course you have to take sometime creating the coupon, so grab some paper and start if you are ready to accept the mission!

Dare to Sacrifice

Are you up for a real challenge? Today’s dare is a dare of selfless sacrifice. We dare you to give up your turn to someone else today. See how good it feels to put someone else before yourself. We even bet they’ll give you a smile and a “thank you” in return!

TEACHERS

To use this as an example in class Collective Worship, the following Bible verse may be useful for talking about putting others before ourselves:
“Greater love has no one than this: to lay down oneʼs life for oneʼs friends.” John‬ ‭15:13

Dare to Love the Earth

Today’s dare is something for quick hands and very attentive students. Today we dare you to pick up litter. But this is not just picking up litter; it’s a competition between you and a friend of your choice. We dare you to try and pick up as much litter as possible, then count how many you picked up.Your friend will be doing the same, and at the end of the day you can compare who got more.

Dare to Be Postive

This is a dare that takes a lot of effort, but it can really transform your day into something awesome. We dare you to turn every complaint or negative thing that you want to say during the day into something positive. For example, instead of saying, “Oh it’s SO cold!” You could say, “I am glad it is not as cold as it is at the North Pole,” or “I am so glad I am able to wear a jacket!” It is hard and maybe takes some practice but we are totally convinced you can do it!

Dare to Promise

Promises are lasting and daring! God showed His eternal love for the world by sending Jesus, so we want to show the same kind of lasting love. We dare you to make a promise to someone and keep for the rest of the week.

Dare to Smile

We hope you’re happy today, because for this dare, you’ll need your smiling muscles! We dare you to smile at people all day and see how many smiles you can get back. It’s very surprising, because most people smile back at you as soon as you smile at them! You don’t believe it? Try it out and you will be pleasantly surprised!
